About Aaron

Aaron Ibbotson joined Forsyth Barr in 2020 as its aged care analyst with additional responsibilities within equity strategy and thematic research. He has over 15 years of equity research experience spanning across four sectors and Global Thematic research. His previous work includes analysing sustainable factors driving long term competitive advantage for corporates. He has worked as an equity analyst in London for 13 years for a leading Global Investment bank and most recently domestically for three years.

Aaron holds a M.Sc. (Economics and Business) from Stockholm School of Economics where he was a guest lecturer on corporate valuation from 2007-2015.

In 2001 Aaron was awarded the SSE Student Exchange Scholarship to Otago University where he met his future wife. In 2017 they moved “back” to NZ with their growing family.
