About Jeff

Jeff Matthews joined Forsyth Barr Auckland in 2014. He has over 25 years of experience in the financial services profession, and has been involved in giving financial and investment advice to private clients, trusts and estates. He lived and worked in Sweden for six years, where he specialised in the areas of investment, foreign exchange and international loans.   

Jeff is registered as a financial adviser and is accredited as an NZX Adviser. He holds a Certificate of Personal Investment Planning & Management from the Securities Institute of Australia (1987), as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from US International University, San Diego, California.  

Jeff has been President of the Estate & Tax Planning Council of New Zealand (2005-2008), and for the past ten years he has been a regular media commentator on financial and investment issues for both print and radio. Jeff is a former “All American” indoor 2-mile champion and represented Sweden at the World Cross Country Championships.
