Forsyth Barr was proud to sponsor the Special Commendation Award at the South Canterbury Business Excellence Awards held on the 23rd August in Timaru.
The Special Commendation Award is a new award and recognises a leader of the business community who has contributed exemplary work to the business and wider community.
This year it was awarded to Dr William Rolleston CNZM for his work in farming, biotechnology and in the South Canterbury Business Community.
In his acceptance speech Dr Rolleston said that South Canterbury had the advantages of great businesses, outstanding farmers, a recreational hinterland which is the envy of many, close proximity to both Christchurch and Dunedin including three universities and excellent schools which creates a platform for the future and makes South Canterbury “that place where talented families want to live”.
