We are delighted that the Summer KiwiSaver scheme's Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) has again been awarded the WriteMark Plain Language Standard.
In a field known for its complexity, Summer’s goal is to help people on their investment journey. Being awarded the WriteMark on the PDS is a reflection of our commitment to helping investors make informed decisions.
Since the scheme launched in 2016, the Summer PDS has achieved the WriteMark each time it has been updated.
The WriteMark is a quality mark awarded to documents that achieve a high standard of plain language. A document that carries the WriteMark:
- has been checked against the rigorous WriteMark criteria
- is focused on the needs of the intended audience
- is easy to read, understand, and act on
Accessible information is a cornerstone for making wise decisions about investment and at Summer we are committed to ensuring that the PDS remains transparent and accessible. It clearly explains how the Summer KiwiSaver scheme works, its risks, and investors’ rights.

In addition to the Summer PDS the Transferring Australian Superannuation to the Summer KiwiSaver scheme booklet was a finalist for the Best Plain English Document — Private Sector in the 2021 Plain English Awards. And the recently published Introduction to Investing for New Zealanders has also achieved the WriteMark Plain Language Standard.
