Forsyth Barr has received the two New Zealand awards at the FinanceAsia 2022 Achievement Awards, including being selected as Best Investment Bank – New Zealand.
The annual FinanceAsia Achievement Awards recognise excellence across Asia, Australia and New Zealand financial markets. An advisory board of external experts judged more than 600 submissions in three key categories – House Awards, Deal Awards and Regional Deal Awards.
In the Deal Awards, Air New Zealand’s $1.2b rights issue won the award for Best New Zealand Deal. Forsyth Barr was a Joint Lead Manager for the rights issue which was the largest ever on the NZX.
Speaking about the awards, Forsyth Barr Head of Investment Banking Guy Williams said, “2022 has been a volatile year with significant changes to the economic and financial landscape. We are delighted to have been able to advise a range of clients on their transactional and capital requirements and, in particular, congratulate Air New Zealand on a landmark recapitalisation package structured to position the airline for the resumption of international travel."
“These awards recognise our commitment to innovative thinking and execution on behalf of clients. We’re very proud to be part of the Deal of the Year, and delighted to be acknowledged as Investment Bank of the Year, recognising our work across mergers & acquisitions, equity capital markets and debt capital markets,” says Forsyth Barr Managing Director Neil Paviour-Smith.
